Recommended dilution ratios for different dishes:

Noodle soup (udon, soba, somen): 1 part tsuyu to 3–4 parts water

Cold noodle dipping sauce: 1 part tsuyu to 2 parts water

Tempura dipping sauce: 1 part tsuyu to 3 parts water

Simmered dishes (nimono): 1 part tsuyu to 4–5 parts water

Rice seasoning or donburi sauce: 1 part tsuyu to 2–3 parts water
